In my Despatch lie. 365 of Soptaber
19 last I had the honour to transmit in translation
a letter from the Ministry of Posts and Cockmunica-
tions stating that the next instalment of principal
and interest on the Hankow-Canton Railway Redemption
Loan Agrecient of September 9, 1906, would be paid
by that Ministry instead of by the Provinces, and
requesting me to inform the Goverment of Hongkong.
On the 5th ultimo, the day before
the payment of the said instalment fell duo, the
Ministry addressed to me a further couannication, a
translation of which is smezed, stating that a
portion of the sum due lad been transmitted from the
London branch of the Yokoham Specie Bank to
